APC hasn’t adopted anybody for NASS leadership – TSN boss Kailani

The leader of Tinubu/ Shetima Network (TSN), Dr Kailani Muhammad Wednesday said the ruling All Progressives Congress has not adopted candidates for the Senate and the House of Representatives.

Dr Muhammad stated at a press conference held at Wuse, Abuja that what the party has done was for ‘convenience’ and that the National Assembly members would vote for those to lead them on the floor of the house.

He said two days ago, the party took a stand on zoning of Senate President and the Speaker of the House and nobody has been adopted by the party.

Quoting the party spokesman, Felix Morka, Dr Muhammad said what the party has one was convenience and not imposition of any candidate on members of the National Assembly.

“The party is still talking to stakeholders. The party is still meeting to resolve the issue. Nobody is doing anti-party, it is to ensure that there is peace in the country,” he said.

He recalled that Dr Abubakar Olusola Saraki did not agree with the party when party leaders wanted Ahmad Lawan as Senate President for the 9th Assembly, even when he was the choice of President Muhammadu Buhari.

He also recalled that the same Lawan was said to be candidate of President Buhari before the convention to pick the party’s presidential candidate, but Asiwaju Bola Tinubu won the primaries. He reasoned that the elected National Assembly members would also decide on those to lead them when they vote after inauguration in June.

He described those saying president-elect, Bola Tinubu should not be sworn in on May 29 as jokers.

He added that the May 29 swearing-in date is sacrosanct) .
