APC National chairmanship position: Modu Sheriff solicits Gov Sule’s support

Former governor of Borno state, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff, has consulted the Nasarawa state governor Abdullahi Sule to solicit for his support for the position of the APC national chairman during the party’s national convention in June.

Sherrif who is a former national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stated this at the government house Lafia, when he visited governor, Sule on Wednesday.

Senator Sherrif who indicated interest to contest for the position of the APC national chairman said he will be going into the race only if the position is zoned to the North east part of the country.

He said he posses all the qualities to effectively manage the affairs of the ruling APC if given the oppotunity.
Senator Sherrif said he was fully aware that the governor is canvassing support for the APC national chairman to be zoned to North central and Nasarawa state, and assured him of his support if that happens.
He therefore commended the Nasarawa state governor for the transformation going on in all the sectors of the state economy, and urged him to maintain the tempo.

Responding, governor Sule thanked Senator Ali Modu Sherrif for the visit, and also solicited the support of the former Borno state helmsman to ensure that the position of the APC national chairman is zoned to the North central and Nasarawa state.
Sule said he was already campaigning for the position of the APC national chairman to be zoned to North central and Nasarawa state.
Governor Sule told Sheriff that, if the stakeholders of the party decided that the position should remain in the North East, he would gladly support Senator Sherrif to get it.
Blueprint gathered that governor Sule is seriously rooting for his predecessor, Senator Umaru Tanko Al-Makura, to emerge the APC national chairman in June.
