The governor, who was represented by his deputy, Engr. Abubakar D. Aliyu, said: “Yobe has settled all the backlogs of gratuities in the state up to February, 2017.
“And in the area of housing, over 1600 houses were constructed and issued out to civil servants on owner-occupier scheme at the subsidised rate of 65% cost of construction. The state had also established Yobe teaching hospital at the cost N5.5 billion and is undertaking construction and renovations of schools, apart from the most recent contract awarded for the establishment of international cargo airport in the state capital,” he said.
Earlier, in his remarks, the new APC North-east zonal chairman, Mustapha Salisu, said he was in Yobe to thank them for scoring 94% in all elections in Yobe and to commend them for all their sacrifices which enabled the APC to clinch all electoral positions in the state.
