APC not campaigning, interested in stealing votes, Atiku alleges

The Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the February 16 election, former vice president, Atiku Abubakar as accused the All Progressives Congress of not campaigning, but planning to steal the votes of the people.

Atiku who made this accusation during PDP rally at Jos, Plateau state capital on Saturday also promised that if elected, he would work hard to bring about security of lives and property.

He said, “Now my brothers and sisters of Plateau, I want to promise you if you elect PDP that we are going to work and restore peace and unity in Plateau state. We will sit down with leaders of all the communities in Plateau state, with all the religious group in Plateau state and make sure that we restore peace and unity to Plateau state. So that Plateau state will continue to be known as the economic hub of in the middle belt.”

Waziri Adamawa also added that, “a PDP government will ensure the provision of jobs, and those of you who cannot work we will give you businesses and entrepreneurship to run your own businesses.”

“Therefore I want to appeal to you to vote for PDP, I want to appeal to you to remain at your polling station and make sure they don’t steal your vote, because the APC is not campaigning, the APC is not communicating with you, what they want to do is to steal the election and we will not allow them to steal the election,” he said.

Atiku charged the people not to allowed themselves to be deceived, “vote PDP from top to bottom, from bottom to top. Vote PDP all the way. 
On his part, the President of the Senate and the Director General bof the PDP Presidential Campaign Organization (PPCO), Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki said only Atiku Abubakar can provide jobs and security.

He recalled that, “In 2015 we came here at that time with the other party and they promised us APC that they will give us security, that time the only area affected by insecurity was north east, we were peaceful here at the north central, we were peaceful here in Plateau. But today, we do not have security here, they have failed to provide security and that is why we have to tell them to go.

“They told us they will provide jobs for the youth, today instead of providing jobs we have loss 10 million jobs. Have they not failed? They said they would improve the economy and there will be food, but today there is hunger. Is there no hunger? So my good people of Plateau state if you want jobs, food and you want security there is only one man that can be all these for you, and that is Atiku, he said.

In his remarks, National Chairman of  PDP, Prince Uche Secondus said the large turn out of people in Plateau state to the party’s rally was an indication that they want a change. 

The Chairman also claimed that, “President Buhari and APC want to destroy Nigeria. They started with the politicians and moved to the Legislature. You are aware that there was a coup d’etat at the National Assembly. That one failed. Now their target is to destroy the Judiciary, the last hope of the common man. I want to tell you, you must rise to this occasion to resist Buhari and APC. Because they have destroyed the economy, no food on our table. There is hunger in the land.”

Secondus alleged: ” they have strarted killing upon killing our people. Atiku is coming to stop the killing. Atiku will provide food on the table for the people. Atiku will provide employment for all of you. And you must come out on the 16th of February en masse to vote for Atiku as well as National Assembly members. 

“I want to let you know and the international community that Buhari wants to destroy the Judiciary. APC wants to destroy the Judiciary. We must resist them. 30 days to the election, that is the time they want to destroy the Judiciary. This never happened in Congo or Venezuela. But we promise them if they want crisis, they will see it. But by the grace of God, we are peace-loving people of Nigeria. We want peace but they want crisis. Because they want to rig the election. And they don’t want a Judiciary that will stand their rigging. It will not work,” he said.

He also charged the people to be strong and  ready to defend their country, that “It is not a matter for PDP. It is a matter for the entire nation. After all in Jos here, there was genocide and they want to kill Dino but they will not succeed. They want to kill the Senate President but they will not succeed, they want to kill all of us but they will not succeed.”
