APC on life support- NNPP chair

The New Nigeria People Party (NNPP) has reacted to a statement credited to the All Progressives Congress’s deputy national publicity secretary, Hon Yakubu Murtala Ajaka, which called on its presidential candidate, Dr Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, to return to APC.

In a a statement on Monday, NNPP’s National chairman, Prof Rufai Alkali, condemned the call, describing APC as a “drowning man looking for support.”
He said, “If Ajaka should study the mood of the nation, he would have noticed the current exodus of APC members and indeed those from other parties into NNPP.”

According to Alkali, “I won’t be surprised if Yakubu Murtala Ajaka knocks on our doors in coming days to give him accommodation”.

Nigerians, he maintained, have since expressed their dissatisfaction with the APC and are looking for credible alternative which they find in NNPP.

The deputy national publicity secretary of the APC, Hon. Yakubu had on Sunday called on Kwakwanso to come back to APC the party he helped to form.

But the chairman of NNPP Prof. Alkali in dismissing the call said the PDP chieftain is living in the past and should wake up to current realities.
