APC primaries: Senatorial aspirant tours constituency

As party primaries draw near, the All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial aspirant for Kaduna Central, Usman Ibrahim, has embarked on a tour of the seven local governments in the zone to meet with delegates and APC and ward excos.
The senatorial hopeful, while addressing party delegates and excos who complained of neglect by past and present representatives of the Zone at the Senate, pledged to make positive impacts on the lives of people at the grassroots if he was able to clinch his party’s nomination and elected senator at the 2019 general elections.
“We are pained and disappointed by our past and incumbent senators who came here during campaigns and promised us all sorts of good things, but never came back after we have elected them.
You can see the deplorable condition of our roads.
“Our graduates cannot be gainfully employed after spending so much to see them through schools these and many other societal problems we have been battling with over the years with no messiah in sights,” Musa Benjamin, a community leader in Kajuru, lamented.
The story was not different in Birnin Gwari, as people spilled from adjoining streets onto the Kaduna – Birnin Gwari highway chanting solidarity slogans of Usman Ibrahim who had a difficult time addressing the mammoth crowd that had converged on the town’s primary school.
Ibrahim, while acknowledging the ceaseless chants of his praises from the crowd, said he would be in regular touch with his constituency with the aim of interacting with them and intervening in areas within his power.
