APC primaries: We adopted indirect primaries to checkmate infiltrators – Aspirant

The All Progressives Congress (APC) aspirant in Sokoto state, Hon Faruku Malami Yabo, has shaded light on the decision of state chapter of the to adopt indirect primaries stating that the decision was taken to check infiltrators.
Hon Malami, who stated this while receiving an expression of interest and nomination forms purchased for him by 12 APC’s lawmakers in the state, added that the indirect primaries will help sanitize the party from intruders.
“The arrangement would avert intrusion by our former members who had been planning to cause chaos during the primaries as they still hold membership cards of the party.
“They defected to the PDP while still holding our cards with the intention of causing division in the party,” he alleged.
He described their actions as a clarion call to the people of Sokoto State to confront the myriads of challenges in the state and lauded assembly members’ promising to address the absence of infrastructures in the state.
Hon Malami listed some of the challenges to include malfunctioning local government councils, decayed educational system, lack of infrastructures, insecurity, unemployment and lack of respect for traditional and religious leaders.
Also, he promised to confront them head-on if elected into office.
“I will restore our glorious days.
I will empower women as supporting them is like supporting the whole societies.
I will transform our values.
“Our youth must be educated and we will create job for them.
We will grant substantive autonomy to our local government areas and we will depend on agriculture.
We will respect constituted authorities as well as our traditional and religious leaders when we come on board,” he pledged.
Speaking earlier, the Minority Leader in the state House of Assembly, Abdullahi Sidi Gwadabawa, said they bought the forms for him in appreciation of his patient and obedience to the party and its leader in the state, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko.
Gwadabawa recalled how Wamakko had prevailed on Yabo to step down for Tambuwal in the build up to 2015.
