APC remains colony of corrupt individuals – ADP

The Action Democratic Party (ADP) has asked President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration to ensure that the recovered $308 million part of Abacha loot to Nigeria is put to judicious use.

The opposition party accused the president’s party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) as “sadly remains a colony of corrupt individuals,” hence the need to be cautioned.

In a statement signed by the ADP’s national chairman Engr Yabagi Yusuf Sani, in Abuja, Thursday called on the president to collaborate with foreign powers beyond the confines of his government to ensure judicious utilization of the recovered loot.

The opposition party, however, commended the government of the United States of America for facilitating the repatriation after over 25 years, “and most instructively attaching conditionality on usage and penalty of repayment if re-stolen.

“While the ADP congratulates President Muhammadu Buhari for his doggedness on the fight against corruption which the international community has also recognized, it must be stated that his government and party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) sadly remains a colony of corrupt individuals which makes the US government to suspect diversion of the funds for political campaigns and private ends as in the case of past repatriated Abacha loot used as Trader money to buy votes in the build up to the 2019 Presidential elections.

“Going forward, the Action Democratic Party is of the opinion that President Buhari may perhaps have to collaborate with foreign powers beyond the confines of his government to ensure judicious utilization of our National Budget by his government to fight the intractable corruption in his government and APC.”
