A former Senior Special Assistant to former Edo state governor, Adams Oshiomhole, has said that the only way the All Progressives Congress (APC) can neutralise opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 2019, is to give the presidential ticket to former governor of Kano state, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso. Francis Ikonomwan, who is also the national coordinator of Southern Mandate, explained that given the permutations of the PDP ahead of 2019 to zone its presidential ticket to the North, there was no doubt that Kwankwaso, remained the most beautiful bride from the region APC needs to hold on to power.

In a statement made available to Blueprint yesterday in Abuja, the APC chieftain added that with the present political and economic state of the nation, it behooved on the APC to present a sellable and acceptable candidate with national appeal. “Irrespective of ethnic, religious or political affi liation, Kwankwaso will not only sanitise and unite the APC, but will harvest the left overs in PDP and other political parties. “Senator Musa Kwankwaso has a sound track record that has is imprinted in the sand of times in the Nigerian political landscape. Th is has seriously endeared him to the people. “Without mincing words, the PDP, led by Senator Ahmed Makarfi , has identifi ed this fact and is making frantic eff ort to cash-in through media propaganda that it is making eff ort to woo Kwankwaso to return to the opposition PDP with their 2019 Presidential ticket. Unfortunately for them, Kwankwaso is a man of integrity, who will never accept such Greek gift.”
