APC states’ SSGs meeting will be successful – Matane

The Secretary to the Niger state Government, Alhaji Ahmed Matane, has expressed confidence that the ongoing quarterly meeting ofSecretaries to the Governments of All Progressives Congress (APC) controlled states holding in Dutse, Jigawa, will be a success.

Matane, who said the meeting was focusing on developing common policy framework for APC states in the country, made the remark in a statement issued by his Information Officer, Lawal Tanko, in Minna Thursday.

He also said that the roundtable would review progress recorded in Security Trust Fund, Revenue Collection and Universal Basic Education, among other areas.

The SSG expressed optimism that the meeting would also provide opportunity for exchange of ideas as well as create synergies for improved and workable solutions to the challenges of the sectors.

He said the forum would also afford the SSGs the opportunity to brainstorm, network and share experience with a view to enhancing oversight and implementation of decisions and policies among the APC led administrations.

Matane described the role of SSGs as pivotal to their respective governments and enjoined his colleagues to ensure the sustenance of the platform.

He said the gathering which was the brain-child of the Progressive Governors Forum had since become a veritable platform to peer review among the APC controlled states. (NAN)
