APDA raises alarm over plot to derail Buhari government

The Advanced Peoples Democratic Alliance (APDA) has accused individuals it described as “dark horses in Nigeria and their foreign collaborators of hatching plots” aimed at derailing the government of President Muhammadu Buhari.

In a statement Thursday in Abuja by APDA Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Hon. Bayo Olumoko, the party revealed that there was groundswell hostility orchestrated by “disgruntled individuals within and outside the country with choreographed grand plot to disrupt the next general elections and stability in Nigeria.”

Olumoko described as illogical and strange a statement credited to one of the leading opposition party, where it threatened to boycott the 2019 elections.

He urged the security agencies to, as a matter of urgency investigate such a reckless and treasonous statement, as APDA investigation reveals there is much to it than meets the ordinary eyes Nigerians.

On the recent defections by some National Assembly members and some state governors, the statement said: “Nigerians are advised not to loose sleep over it, as virtually all of them that decamped recently are known serial defectors and virtually all have lost electoral values in their respective constituencies.”

APDA’s statement further revealed that there were sinister moves by some opposition governors and some corrupt individuals to heat up the polity and create chaos in the country.

Olomoko said: “Within the next few months, these agents of evil, are to launch a simultaneous media war against the Armed Forces of Nigeria and other security agencies, in order to hang the Government of the day and give it a bad name.”

He further cautioned the security chiefs to be more proactive and to be wary of fifth columnists who are bent on infiltrating them for selfish agenda.

The party commended the Armed Forces, the Department of State Services and the Police for their services to fatherland.

“The party under the leadership of Shitu Mohammed Kabir MON, will continue to support good governance in Nigeria as he encourages the Nigeria Youths to join the Party in order to provide a better and fresh alternative for the common good of all,” the statement said.
