Th e factional group in the leadership crisis rocking the All Progressives Grand Alliance, (APGA) led by Martin Agbaoso has said that there is truth in the allegation by the Chief Victor Oye-led National Working Committee that they stole from the party offi ce.

A statement signed yesterday by the Spokesman of the group, Onapuruagu Prince Ukaegbu, said that it was not possible to commit such act under the nose of offi cers of the Nigerian Police. “Th e attention of APGA has been drawn to a delirious rant by the former national chairman of APGA, Victor Oye alleging a theft of N19 million from the National Secretariat and impugning the person and character of the current national chairman, Ochoudo Martin Agbaso in the process.

“As humourless and wild as these allegations are, we are mindful of Victor Oye’s background as a failed Nollywood scriptwriter and his predisposition to mix up facts with fi ction. Th e group said that its move against Oye was based on breaches against the provisions of APGA Constitution. “Article 13(7)(a) of APGA Constitution stipulates the way and manner in which party funds ought to be handled. Leaving party funds in an imaginary safe in the party offi ce is clearly outside the scope of APGA law; fl aunting this provision is not only reprehensible but criminal and Oye will face the full weight of the law accordingly. “Be it as it may, we are not unmindful that the fi gure of N19 million Naira bandied about by Oye forms part of the party funds misappropriated by him and that his current Wolf cry is simply an antic to retire funds criminally gleaned from the party”, the statement added.
