Apo DPO bags security profile award

The Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Apo Divisional Police headquarters in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), CSP Emega John has bagged the “High Profile Excellent Legacy Award” from Noble Global Media.

At the award presentation ceremony, representatives of the organisation led by the General Manager, Adai Nelson said the reason for the award was informed by Emega’s consistent passion for the fight against crime and insecurity as demonstrated by his track records in all the turbulent areas he worked.

He said nominations that flooded in during the process of selection clearly put the seasoned police officer ahead of his contemporaries. While responding after receiving the award, the DPO said: “I came when robberies and cultism was almost at the apex, having studied the terrain, I went into action.

“I had dealt with other turbulent areas around the city hence went into action not as a novice. As I speak now, the residents of Apo are happy. Crime and criminality have reduced to the barest minimum and kidnapping is extinct.

“We have been arresting the kingpins and handling them to the courts and so, reoccurrence is very minimal. Once there’s a distress call or during patrols, we arrest them and they would confess”.

He enjoined the young Nigerians entering the force to focus on policing in such a manner that their aspirations will remain by doing  the right thing at the right time.

He said some joined the force for various reasons best known to them but it was advisable for them to carry out their duties in tune with the law and have their rewards in the end.

“The secret of the job is that I have no special person; when you act ultra vires not within the ambit of the law, you won’t be spared; no sacred cows,” he said.

He has a catalogue of awards from different organizations to his credit for crime fight and conflict management.
