Apologise to Umahi, PDP Chief tells Odoh

A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic party (PDP) Ebonyi state, Chief Godwin Akaji, yesterday urged the former Secretary to the state government, Professor Benard Odoh, to apologize to Governor Dave Umahi for his malicious allegation.
The chieftain, who described the allegation of maltreatment of civil servants in the state as unimaginable, unfounded, and baseless, said Prof.Odoh’s statement was disgraceful.
Prof Odoh had among other things in a three-page resignation letter accused Umahi’s administration of running a one-man show, alleging that workers in the state have not been fairly treated.
Akaji, who wondered why Odo made the allegations against the administration he was part of and witnessed payment of workers on 15th of every month, urged him not to use malicious allegation to achieve his 2019 selfish political interest.
“Odo should have known that all those things he raised against the Governor are not in existent. If they existed, he should show evidence and that is the only way he can convince the public. He should desist from raising falsehood against the governor because of his selfish political interest.
“He was a spy to the state government. He has been in this administration for three years only to accuse the government of maladministration. He did not work for the emergence of the administration as he was of APGA where he contested for senatorial election and lost.
“He should have resigned without abusing the Governor. Let him know that Ebonyi south must complete its own 8 years of governorship seat
the way North and central did. Odoh cannot stop the Governor”, he said.
