Apostle Suleiman: Police take fresh action in Edo over killing of arrested suspect

The Edo State Commissioner of Police, AIG Abutu Yaro, has ordered the removal of the Divisional Police Officer, Auchi Division Ayoade Suleiman over the killing of an arrested suspect in the attack on Apostle Suleman’s convoy.

The suspect was reported to be arrested by vigilantes and handed over to the police. 

Blueprint had reported that the General Overseer of Omega Fire Ministry was attacked on Friday on his way back to his home town, Auchi in Edo state.

The information of his removal was conveyed through a statement by the Deputy Public Relations Officer of the command, Jennifer Iwegbu.

According to the statement, the DPO was to report to the state command for debriefing. 

The statement reads partly: “The outgoing CP now AIG Abutu Yaro has ordered the withdrawal of CSP Ayodele Suleiman, DPO Auchi for debriefing at the State Headquarters with immediate effect.”

Members of the public were urged to remain calm as the command carries out necessary investigation to bring perpetrators of the act to book.

In reaction to the alleged killing of the suspect, Apostle Suleman had accused the police of trying to erase the evidence that could lead to the arrest of the perpetrators of the attack.
