Osun guber: Appeal court to seat in Osogbo Monday


The Appeal Court, Akure division, will begin its seating in Osogbo, Osun state capital, on Monday, investigation has revealed.

Renovation of hall and rehabilitation of roads are presently ongoing at the Osun state High Court, Ilobu road, Osogbo.

It was gathered that the Judges that would hear the petition arising from the tribunal would be in the state for two weeks.

The two weeks proceedings would be kicked off officially as Governor Gboyega Oyetola would also attend the maiden seating.

When contacted on telephone, the Chief Registrar of Osun State High Court, Mr Lawrence Olawale Arojo, confirmed the seating of the court of appeal in Osogbo to our correspondent.

He said, “The court of appeal division used to move round the jurisdiction under their zone. Akure division covers Ondo, Ekiti and Osun.

“They want to come to Osogbo for two weeks. So, any lawyer that have matter in those states can come before them at Osogbo for that two weeks before they decide where to go again.

“We are having an opening programme on Monday. We have invited Nigerian Bar, lawyers and Senior Advocates and everybody will speak. The governor will deliver a keynote address.
