Appointments: We’ll be fair to all – Kwara gov

Governor AbdulRahman Abdulrasaq of Kwara state has declared that the new All Progressive Congress (APC) government in the state might not achieve equity in the sharing of positions and appointments in the state.

Rather, he said, his administration “will strive to be fair to all” and compensate those who might be seen not to have got enough.

The governor stated this at a meeting with thought leaders and elders of the state in Ilorin Thursday.

According to him, there is less that 150 appointments to be shared and it cannot obviously meet the yearnings of the people.

“It will be difficult to achieve equity but we will try to achieve equity, we will be fair to all and it will be all inclusive,” he said.

The governor, however, gave the assurance that his administration “will create wealth and job opportunities by unlocking untapped potentials in the state.”

“Our man focus has to be on enterprise, we have to get our IGR to N5 billon monthly without increasing taxation, already our people over taxed.”

The governor further gave the assurance that he “will always tour every part of the state and even hold council meetings in various councils” to enable him to feel their pulse.’

“I will not be an Ilorin governor, I want to tour the sate to feel the people’s pulse; we will even hold council meetings in Baruten, anyone who does not want to come can stay.”
