A former Speaker of Osun State House of Assembly, and governorship aspirant, Adejare Bello, has claimed that Governor Rauf Aregbesola inability to relate with the people, listen and take advice were the major reasons he has failed as governor.
According to the aspirant the governor would have been the best governor the state had ever produced had listening ears and had taken advice from concern citizens that had wished his administration success.
He made the submission when he submitted his letter of intention to contest the governorship election to the Peoples Democratic Party’s Secretariat in Osogbo yesterday.

“Considering my past record under the past two Governors of Chief Bisi Akande and Olagunsoye Oyinlola, and the present governor Rauf Aregbesola, I can say boldly that I have the wherewithal to govern the state.
“I was the minority leader of the assembly for four years and I was the speaker for eight years, I have gathered experience from the three governors that led the state since 1999.
“I know how Bisi Akande failed in his government when he downsized workers. I cannot make such mistakes”, he said and promised to bring his experience to bear if given to ticket to contest under the platform of the APC.
Also, Bello said he would allow the party leadership to choose his deputy and vowed to obey party structure.
“I promise that I won’t be governor that selects for party. The party would be superior under my watch. I have learned how to respect the party from Oyinlola and I would not interfere in selecting for the party.
“I want to assure you that my swearing-in should be expected once I am given the governorship ticket. I would ensure that all the 30 local governments and the area council in Modakeke have their party Secretariat within my two years.
“I promise that the PDP would get 60,000 votes in my town, Ede, if you give me ticket. I promised 25,000 votes during the last Senatorial election and I delivered 27,000 votes”, he said.
