Arewa Media forum mourns Tundunwada

The Arewa media forum has expressed sadness over the tragic death of one of its active members, Mallam Umar Tundunwada, in a road accident last Sunday.

The group in a press statement by the Chairman, Alhaji Yusuf Saulawa, Tuesday said Tunduwada had contributed immensely to the development of broadcast journalism in Northern Nigeria and regretted that he died at a time when his services were needed in this era of private broadcast and new media in Nigeria.

He said, “Tudunwada had made his mark at the natonal and internatonal level, his immediate constituency was expectng him to deploy such experience to the service of the north when he suddenly died.

“We in the Arewa Media Forum were very fond and proud of him. Not only was he an active member who contributed to the growth of our Forum, he was a worthy Ambassador of the Forum on the Nigerian Media scene. Earlier this year, he made all of us at the Forum very proud when he was elected as the Deputy National President of the Nigerian Guild of Editors.

“We shall miss him in the Forum very greatly and we pray that the Almighty and Merciful Allah will forgive his shortcomings and grant him eternal rest. We also pray that he will grant his immediate familythe fortitude to bear the great loss.
