Armed gang kidnaped Chinese nationals in Edo – Police



Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have killed a police orderly and took hostage two Chinese national in Benin City, Edo State.

The  gunmen reportedly attacked the victims at Utesi Community, near Benin City on Wednesday.

Besides, the hoodlums were said to have fired shots at the slain police orderly before taking the Chinese nationals away.

The Chinese men were said to be returning home from work when the hoodlums struck.

Blueprint gathered that the expatriates works at Rongtile Glass and Alluminium company on the Benin byepass road.

A source who craved not to be named said the gunmen ”blocked their (the victims) vehicle and abducted them after killing the security office attached to them.

”I have a feeling that the gunmen have been trailing them as soon as they came out of the company,” the source stated.

Edo State Commissioner of Police, DanMallam Muhammed, confirmed the development.

Danmallam said: “the incident was reported to us yesterday (Wednesday). We are working hard to rescue them from the kidnappers.

The CP assured that the perpetrators would be apprehended and prosecuted.
