Army arrest Boko Haram suspects in Kano


Troops of the Nigerian Army in Kano Saturday evening arrested suspected Boko Haram militants taking refuge in houses considered suspicious at Hotoro quarters in Kano metropolis.

Blueprint findings revealed that the troops arrested the suspects when they stormed Filin Lazio in Hotoro area of Kano metropolis and raided a mosque and some houses.

Findings also revealed that about 10 suspected Boko Haram elements were sighted to have been whisked away by the troops of the Nigerian Army, even-though it was not officially confirmed as to the authenticity of the number given by the eye witnesses

It was reliably gathered that the raid was carried out while the Muslim faithful were breaking their Ramadan fast , a development that sent shivers down the spines of many residents in the area

Eyewitnesses account revealed  that the troops  also took away some unidentified items from the surroundings of the mosque.

Confirming to news men on the latest Army offensive against the suspected Boko Haram elements the spokesperson, 3rd Brigade Nigerian Army in Kano, Captain Njoko Irabor  said despite the arrest effected during  the operation,  he  could not give the exact number of the  suspects arrested.

Captain Irabor said, “Yes, the operation has been carried out in the area and it  would  be a continuous exercise.”
