“Army committed to full implementation of FG policies”

Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai has expressed the commitment of the Nigerian Army to fully implement all programmes and policies of the Federal Government geared towards effective service delivery of the Armed Forces.
He said this during the Biometric Enrollment exercise for the 75 Regular Recruit intake at the Nigerian Army Depot, Zaria.
Represented by Chief of Administration, Nigerian Army, Maj. Gen. Abubakar, the COAS said the Biometric exercise conducted by the Nigerian Army Finance Corps was aimed at capturing “ the young soldier’s data” in line with his vision of “ to have a professionally responsive Nigerian Army in the discharge of its constitutional roles”.

“The need to maintain a robust personnel database is therefore imperative especially considering our involvement in various security operations in our dear country and overseas,” he said.
“Some of the financial reforms which we have already embraced include the Single Treasury Account (TSA), Government Integrated Financial Management Information System (GIFMIS) and the Personnel and Payroll Information System (IPPI) among others.”
He commended the leadership of the Nigerian Army Finance Corps for sustaining the exercise, and urged them to continue to build on information technology architecture for better service delivery.
