Army donates palliatives to host community in Bayelsa

As part of the activities to celebrate the NADCEL 2020, the 16 Brigade Nigerian Army has distributed palliatives to over 1000 families With the view to ameliorating the suffering of the people, due to the COVID 19 pandemic.

The palliatives which included rice, beans, yam, vegetable oil, and other condiments, were distributed to the vulnerable over the weekend in Ogbia Local Government Area of Bayelsa state.

The Commander 16 Brigade Nigerian Army Brig-Gen. ET Esseien said that as a responsive organization that takes into recognition the partnership with host communities, the palliatives is to support the efforts of government at various levels.

“To complement the efforts of the federal government, the Nigerian army under the leadership of Lt. Gen.Tukur Burutai has directed that the 16 brigades to make this distribution to the less privilege in our community.

“ Today’s event is gratifying and well cherished as part of Nigerian army celebration and in recognition of the Nigerian army 157 years of existence.

Gen. Esseien also noted that the army places a very high premium on excellent civil-military relationships.

He said, “we are delighted to identify with our host community for this event” and for collaboration, support in the maintenance of security”.

Receiving the palliatives on behalf of the community, the paramount ruler His Royal Highness David Osene thanked the Nigerian army for  donating palliatives to the community.
