Troops of Nigerian Army Super Camp 4 Faskari under Operation Sahel Sanity Monday killed 46 bandits while several escaped with gunshot wounds during an operation at Yar Gamji town in Batsari Local Government Area of Katsina state.
Coordinator Defence Media Operations, Maj. Gen. John Enenche said the operation was carried out after the troops received a distress call of the invasion of armed bandits in the community.
“The gallant troops who were just inducted into operation responded swiftly to the call,” he said, “and engaged the criminals thereby neutralized 46 bandits in the encounter while others escaped with gunshot wounds.
“Troops of Operation Sahel Sanity are presently in exploitation phase and have dominated the general area with aggressive patrols.”
