Army to inaugurate War College Course 1 Thursday

Inauguration of the Nigerian Army War College Course 1 is scheduled to hold on Thursday at the Nigerian Army Resource Centre, Abuja, in the morning.
A statement by the Public Relations Officer of the college, Maj. Olaniyi Osoba, said the Minister of Defence, Mansur Dan- Ali will be the Special Guest of Honour, while the Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Abayomi Olonisakin and the Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Tukur Buratai, other service chiefs and the inspector General of Police will be in attendance.
I will be recalled that Buratai, on April 3, announced the commencement of the Nigerian Army College, during the opening of the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) 2017 1st Quarter Conference in Maiduguri.

Buratai said the establishment of the war college was to improve the leadership qualities and attributes of junior commanders to attain desire command and control in the conduct of operations.
He said another aim of establishing the college is to bridge the gap between operational and strategic level commanders “who will be well grounded in operational arts, operational design, campaign planning, decision making process as well as the theories of peace and war.”
He said some Lt. Colonels and senior Colonels had been nominated as pioneer students of the institution.
