Aspirant counsels politicians, electorate on past mistakes

Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chairmanship contender for Kuje area council, Alhaji Alhassan Bako Kuje, has urged the electorate to correct past mistakes by electing credible leaders in the 2019 general elections. Bako Kuje said 2019 presents an opportunity for the electorate to use their votes wisely by electing leaders that will provide democracy dividends. The chairmanship hopeful made the appealed yesterday while speaking with Blueprint in Kuje, noting that the PD promises of leaders whose primary concern is to better the lot of the people. He further maintained that, the electorate should collect any money offered to them but should ensure they cast their votes for all the PDP candidates. “I appeal to Kuje residents not to waste their votes with any party as it remains their right to decide who will manage their resources for the optimal goal of Kuje area council,” he said. Charging the electorate to defend their votes in the interest of good governance, Alhaji Bako also called on the good people of Kuje to shun violence, to pave the way for transparent election and emergence of honest and committed leaders during and after elections. He explained that, time had come for them to elect leaders that would provide basic infrastructure or the wellbeing of the people and promised that, if he wins the primary and voted into power as chairman of the council, he would ensure the massive provision of infrastructure in the area council. The aspirant called on residents to guard against ethnic consideration in their choice of leaders in politics, noting that Kuje council had since been witnessing a wave of peace and progress, stressing: “That is how it will remain amenable to meaningful contributions of our party with a view to hastening the peace and development in the area. “ He equally appealed to FCT Minister, Mallam Muhammad Musa Bello, to intensify rural development programmes in order to decongest major towns of the Federal Capital Territory, pointing out that people would have loved to live in the satellite towns and work at the capital city of Abuja if government provides the necessary social amenities like power supply and portable water which are necessary for comfort and quality life.
