Assembly wants Plateau NYSC members redeployed out of Borno

The Plateau state House of Assembly, has resolved that indigenes of the state studying in Borno state and those serving the National Youth Sevce Corps (NYSC) scheme, be redeployed out of Borno to other institutions within their catchment areas.

The resolution was reached Tuesday, at the plenary having discussed matter of public urgent importance, raised by member representing Pankshin South Constituency, Honourable  Henry Lungs.

He said based on the abduction and subsequent killing of Mr Dalep Dachiya, a two hundred level student of University of Maiduguri, who hailed from Panshing south constituency, it is necessary for him to raise concern about other students and NYSC members from the state.

 Lungs called on the Plateau state government to, “take a decisive actions on Boko Haram, as its relates the abduction of plateau citizens.”

“This situation is capable of igniting religious crisis in Nigeria, capable of undermining government efforts of peaceful coexistence in Plateau state,” he added.

Honourable Lungs said the Plateau state government must be seen doing the right thing over the matter, to also constantly issue travelling warnings to Plateau citizens.

“Government should send a powerful delegation to Borno state governor and vice chancellor of University of Maiduguri, to see how the perpetrators of the act would be apprehended.

“Government should also work out redeployment of Plateau state students from schools in Borno state to other catchment areas in the zone that are safe,” he said.
