ATBU teaching hospital trains 260 doctors, nurses on COVID-19

The management of the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital (ATBUTH) ,Bauchi, Monday organised special training for  its 260 staff including 90 doctors, 90 nurses and others on how to handle COVID- 19 patients and protect themselves from contracting the virus.

The acting Chief Medical Director of the hospital, Dr. Abubakar Kaddas, while declaring the workshop open Monday, said the event was meant to ensure that their staff remains safe and avoid contracting the disease.

He advised all frontline health workers in the state to adhere to medical rules and protocols in responding to suspected cases of coronavirus and other related deadly diseases.

He said the training of trainers for Infection Prevention and Control of the Coronavirus Global Pandemic has continued to attract more volunteers in ensuring that the state is up to date with its level of preparedness in a bid to prevent the spread of the pandemic.
