Atiku appoints Ologbondiyan campaign spokesperson

Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has appointed Kolawole Stephen Ologbondiyan, former National Publicity Secretary of the party as one of his spokespersons for the 2023 presidential campaign.

The PDP presidential candidate in statement by his Media Adviser, Paul Ibe, Thursday, said the appointment takes immediate effect.

Ologbondiyan joins other spokespersons earlier appointed by the presidential candidate to project Atiku and keep the electorate updated about goings on in the campaign.

The statement read in part: “Ologbondiyan was former National Publicity Secretary of the PDP (Dec. 2017-Dec. 2021). He was Director of Media and Publicity, PDP Presidential Campaign Council (2019 Presidential Election) and now member of National Executive Committee (NEC) of the party.

“He was Special Adviser (Media and Publicity) to former President of the Senate, Senator David Mark (2007-2015). He is a highly experienced journalist endowed with requisite skills of communication.

“He rose through the ranks from being Proof Reader and Production Editor to becoming Assistant Politics Editor, Politics Editor, Group Politics Editor, Deputy Editor (Daily) and Digital Editor (Online) of THISDAY Newspapers.

Meanwhile, the Forum of the Elected National Ex-officio members of the PDP has appealed to aggrieved party members to sheath their sword and work for the party’s victory in 2023.

Chairman of the forum, Yunana Iliya, who made the appeal while addressing a press conference, Thursday in Abuja, charged the aggrieved members to explore internal conflict resolution mechanism of the party.

“The aggravating circumstances being thrown up by conflicting accusation and counter – accusation of who is right and who is wrong, a matter which the Forum of National Ex-officios feels is not necessary at this electioneering period,” he said.
