Attack on Jigawa govt, SEMA officials, journalists political – Badaru

Governor Mohammed Badaru Abubakar said the attack carried out recently on government official, journalists and Jigawa State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) was politically motivated.

According to the governor, findings indicated that some politicians were behind the scene of what happened last week at Ganuwar Kuka.

It would be recalled that last Thursday, a Special Assistant to the Governor, Hamza Muhammed, along with some journalists and SEMA team were attacked and beaten up in a mob action in Ganuwar Kuka.

Badaru lamented that, “It is quite unfortunate at this time that we all need to put our heads together, work together with a view to assisting the victims of the flood, but some are bringing politics into the issue.”

He further explained that, “we have done a lot in taking measures this time around that the flood has become a nationwide and global phenomenon.”

He explained that each part of the globe has its own problems. “In the US, they are battling with wildfire, hurricane among others and here we have to be battling with flooding.”
