A student of the Federal Polytechnic, Auchi, in Edo state, Ibukun Emmanuel has sculptured the Oba of Benin on a live tree and has thus become the latest talent being celebrated in the country.
Emmanuel who hails from Ondo state, made the portrait of the Oba of Benin with his many beads and crown on a standing tree.
According to a Facebook user, who posted the picture and video of the sculptural work, the work is the first of tree carving of the Oba of Benin.
Emmanuel, is a student of the School of Art and Design in the polytechnic said that his tree carving of the Oba of Benin was the first of its kind in the whole of Nigeria, adding that the tree on which the Oba’s head was carved is in the polytechnic’s school of Art and Design campus in Auchi.
