AUDA, NEPAD partner special duties ministry for better service delivery

The Chief Executive Officer of New Partnership for Africa’s Development, and African Union Development Agency (AUDA/NEPAD) Princess Gloria Akobundu, is soliciting for collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs (FMSDIGA) for better service delivery to Nigerians.

She made the call Wednesday when she paid a courtesy call on the Minister of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs, Senator George Akume in his office in  Abuja.

She noted that the collaboration was necessitated by the ongoing second review process of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

“As such, collaborative work will be needed in the area of advocacy for drafting of the National Programme of Action (NPoA) to enhance good governance, policy formulation and sustainable growth and development.

“AUDA-NEPAD also requires partnership with the support mission for the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).”

Princess Akubundu stated that Nigeria made tremendous progress in the first African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM) process, adding that AUDA/NEPAD also require partnership with the support mission for the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU).

Responding, Akume noted that if the AUDA-NEPAD mandates are properly implemented, its activities will add value to the developmental strides of the federal government.

He promised his ministry’s collaboration with AUDA-NEPAD in the second review process.

AUDA-NEPAD has the mandate to identify and work with key partners in the public and private sectors to facilitate and monitor the implementation of African Union flagship programmes at the country level.
