Award: FMC Keffi MD gets Metro Daily nomination

A leading online/hardcopy media organisation based in Abuja, the nation’s capital, Metro Daily, has nominated the Medical Director of the Federal Medical Center (FMC) Keffi, Dr Yahaya Baba Adamu, for an award.

The management and publishers of Metro Daily magazine, presented the nomination letter to the Medical Director on Thursday in his office.

Publisher of Metro Daily, Mr. Augustine Aminu, while making the presentation, said the choice of the Medical Director was arrived at after recommendations of some investigative journalists who toured the facilities of the medical center.

Mr. Aminu, who scored the Medical Director high on achieving infrastructural development and demonstrating a high principle of accountability, added that such is rear amongst today’s administrators.

He further stated that under the period of three years, there has been unprecedented and remarkable development in the center.

“Our team of editors deliberated and found you worthy so we are presenting you an official letter as one among those to be conferred an award captioned, ‘The Outstanding and Accountable Medical Director for the Year 2021’.

“This is in line with our style of reporting; we tell the good stories in Nigeria and highlight areas that need to be strengthened,” Aminu said.

In response, the Medical Director, Dr Yahaya Baba Adamu, thanked Metro Daily management for considering him one that has added value to the development of the medical centre, which is by extension a service to the country.

Dr Yahaya used the opportunity to reveal that at the time he took over, most of the equipment in some departments were outdated and some structures were incomplete.

“I am one person who is not actually interested in talking about what I have done as i believe that whatever you do to an individual or in an institution is as good as doing it to yourself.”
