Awopetu hails Ekiti FA on progress and unity

Ekiti State Commissioner of Sports and Youths, Hon. Michael Awopetu has commended the State football association for its laudable efforts to take football in the state to greater heights, despite the board’s short time in office.

Speaking in his office during the courtesy visit made by the Bayo Olanlege led board of Ekiti State Football Association, Hon. Michael Awopetu, harped on the need for the board to continue to work hard towards the development and empowerment of youths and football in the state.

He further praised the board on its tireless efforts in developing grassroots football in the state citing the ongoing Bet9ja sponsored state league as an example.

“We must commend the Ekiti State Football Association for putting in work since they have been elected into the office, and we are not shy to say supporting this board we have not regretted it.

“We are therefore not surprised because in the few months they have been in the office, they have done well. Look at the state league currently going on, its the first of its kind in this area, ” he stressed.

He also admonished the FA board to continue working together in oneness so as to achieve a common goal.

“Nothing will work when a house is divided against itself. I will urge you to continue in the spirit of unity and love you started your time. And with this, Ekiti Football will achieve more”

In his reaction, Chairman of the Ekiti State Football Association, Bayo Olanlege thanked him for the fatherly role he played before and after the elective congress that ushered in the present board.
