Ayade lauds IGP for peace in Cross River

The Governor of Cross River state, Prof. Ben Ayade, has commended the Inspector General of Police,  IGP Usman Alkali Baba, for the peace the state has enjoyed since his appointment as IGP.


Ayade, who stated this, Tuesday, when he visited the IGP at the Force Headquarters, Abuja, noted that, “Cross river state remains calm despite the security heat that has engulfed the southern part of the country.”
Speaking with journalists after a closed door meeting with the police boss, Ayade said he visited the IGP specifically to share his thoughts and concerns about security in his state with the IGP.


According to him, “I’m here to share my thoughts and concerns about security with the IGP. I’m here specifically for the security of the state as it is my responsibility to guarantee security of live and property of people inCross river state.


“The state is at investment stage. When I came into office as the governor of the state, I made a strong commitment that I was going to decoupled the state from its dependent on the federal allocation. Against that background, I invested heavily in Cali Air which is a commercial airline.”


He added that other project invested in by his administration included the deep sea port project and expressed optimism that it will make the state even more commercial viable and generate the much needed internal revenue.
