Ayade’s wife, South-South women back Tinubu

The wife of Governor Ben Ayade, Doctor Linda, has restated her support and that of the entire women in South South region to the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Bola Tinubu, in the February 2023 presidential polls.

Dr Ayade, who said this in Calabar during the zonal women rally of the party in Calabar, weekend, noted that all indices on ground indicated that Senator Tinubu would be president as such the entire women should queue behind the former Lagos State governor with their Permanent Voters Cards (PVC).

“And I want to charge you all women of the great south-south that as you have your PVCs, if you know that you have not collected your PVC, make sure you pick up your PVC.

“We have to make our voices louder in action come February 2023 by filling out in our numbers, we have the numbers and we want our numbers to reflect on the ballot come February 2023 in support of our dear candidate.

“Everybody that has spoken has told you that here is the incoming president of Nigeria and we want to let the whole country know that the south-south women are solidly behind him,” she stated.

Speaking earlier, the APC National Women Leader, Dr. Betta Edu, said Senator Tinubu would have nothing less than 40 million votes during the elections.

She said: “Tinubu had supported women and we have seen it, he supported his wife who is a Christian to rise to the position of a senator and other women in his state. Nigerians will give Senator Bola Tinubu nothing less than 40 million votes.”

Sen. Oluremi Tinubu, wife of the presidential candidate, in her remarks, said she and Hajiya Nana Shetima, wife of the running mate were ensuring that their husbands were constantly reminded of the plight of the less privilege.

She said the women could trust them to ensure that issues which mattered to them were brought to the front burner and added, “vote for Tinubu/Shetima is a vote for progress, enabling environment for youths to thrive, unified and secured Nigeria.”
