Azman Air can now fly – NCAA

The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), says Azman Air has satisfactorily completed safety audit and implementation corrective action as recommended.

In its verdict NCAA, says the airline can now return to operation.

The management of the airline in a statement said the lifting of suspension on the airline was confirmed in a meeting held between the management of Azman and NCAA on May 1, 2021.

Azman Air management wishes to extend its deepest gratitude to the Minister of Aviation, Alhaji Hadi Sirika, industry stakeholders, eminent personalities and the press for their unwavering assistance towards this meritorious achievement”.

The NCAA had on March 16, 2021 grounded Azman Air following series of incidents involving Azman Air Boeing 737 Aircraft, the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has pursuant to Section 35 (2) of the Civil Aviation Act, 2006 and Part 1.3.3.3 (A) of the Nigeria Civil Aviation Regulations (Nig.CARs) 2015, suspended the operations of all the Boeing 737 Aircraft in the Fleet of Azman Air Services Limited, with effect from March 15, 2021.

The suspension was to enable the Authority conduct an audit of the airline to determine the root cause(s) of the incidents, and recommend corrective actions to forestall re-occurrence.
