Azman Air to operate intercontinental flights with IOSA certificate

The number of Nigerian airlines prepared and certified to operate regional and intercontinental flight operations swells yesterday as news filtered into the country’s aviation industry announcing the certification of leading domestic carrier Azman Air as an IOSA compliance airline.

The International Air Transport Association Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) is the benchmark for global safety management for airlines which requires that all IATA members are registered and must remain registered in order to maintain IATA membership, It said.

Industry players including travel agencies and others in the upstream and downstream segment of the industry yesterday described the feat as laudable and an enviable one for the airline which started its operations barely five years ago.

An online statement by the airline affirmed that its determination and plans to commence operations into the West African sub-region and international flight operations have further been boosted by the IOSA certification.

Azman said ”In our relentless and renewed dedication to comply with the most stringent of rules and practices governing aviation safety, Azman Air has successfully passed its internal audit and now certified by the IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA)
