Babatunde Michael shines in Wydad league game in Morocco

Nigerian international, Babatunde Michael continued his impressive display for Moroccan side Wydad Athletic Club as he helped them stretch their unbeaten league run to seven games after scoring in their 1-1 draw away to Difaâ Hassani Jadid.

The 26-year-old was given yet another start by Head Coach Faouzi Benzarti and did not disappoint when he put the visitors ahead after just 50 seconds, reacting quickest to turn home Mohamed Ounajem’s cross.

The early strike opened up the game but the home team failed to find the equalizer as Wydad went into the break with a 1-0 lead.

The second half saw a change of approach from the hosts who were back on level terms eight minutes after the hour mark when Tanzanian forward Simon Msuva headed home to make it 1-1.

Babatunde was then withdrawn five minutes later for Yahya Jabrane as the visitors held on for a precious away point to stretch their lead on the summit of the table to 16 points after just 22 round of matches.
