Badaru tasks corps members on peace, unity

Jigawa state governor, Alhaji Muhammad Badaru Abubakr, has stressed the need for corps members deployed to the state to continue to promote national unity and development.
The governor made the remark during the occasion of the terminal parade and closing of the 2018 orientation course held at the Yakubu Gown NYSC orientation camp in Dutse, yesterday.
The governor, who was represented by the Head of Civil Service, Alhaji Muhammad Inuwa Tahir, reminded them that the spirit of selfless service, honesty, humility imbibed during the three-week exercise should be sustained.
“Also we are expecting you to participate actively in our agricultural programmes not forgetting corps members spectacular performances in Education, and health sectors, mention must be made of Jigawa state progress in recent national secondary examination and health initiative for rural dwellers executed by the NYSC,” he pointed out. Badaru therefore warned all corps employers, both public and private, to desist from rejecting corps members posted to them, saying this was violation of the spirit of selfless service to the fatherland.
‘’I want to assure you that the people of Jigawa state will appreciate your laudable contributions. It is especially gratifying to note that we are expecting you to make contributions in various sectors of the economy through your places of primary assignment,’’ Badaru stated. Earlier in his speech, the Jigawa state NYSC Coordinator, Alhaji Ibrahim Abdu Muhammad, said in line with stipulated posting policy, majority of corps members were posted to serve in the rural areas in order to bring the required development to the grassroots.
The coordinator stated further that they were expected to always imbibe the virtues of honesty, humility, respect and regard for one another and also respect the culture, tradition and religion of their host communities. He said over 280 corps members were redeployed to various states of the federation after the orientation course while they were expecting to receive over 700 corps members who will be transferred to Jigawa state from other states and enjoined the corps members to be law abiding
