Bala approves employment of 252 medical students

The Bauchi state governor, Bala Mohammed, has approved the immediate employment of 252 pre-service medical students into the main civil service of the state.

The state’s Head of Civil Service, Yahuza Adamu Haruna, confirmed the governor’s approval for the engagement of the medical students Friday in a press statement signed by his information officer, Umar Sa’idu.

The statement indicated that the engagement of the medical students was part of the administration’s plans to provide jobs for the youth and to improve the health sector from the grassroots.

“The office of the Head of Civil Service wants to assure the general public that it has concluded arrangements for the necessary documentation of the medical students for the immediate issuance of their appointment letters as directed by His Excellency, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, the executive governor of Bauchi state.

“Previously, the state government had given approval for the engagement of 1,061 pre-service medical students into the state’s main service, in addition to the employment of another 116 community midwives to provide health care services to the people of the state,” the statement read in part.
