Bala’s wife empowers Bauchi planter inventor with N400, 000


Wife of Bauchi state governor, Hajiya Mariam Bala Mohammed has empowered a Bauchi based technician Malam Mohammed Ukasha who invented a five row planter with the sum of N400,000 to support him to make more.


Ukasha had invented a five row planter and named it ‘The UKC’.


Mariam presented said the donation was in line with her vision to support young Nigerians with innovative minds and creativity so as to reduce unemployment in the society.


According to her, Nigeria and Bauchi state have abundant land resources that should be harnessed through farming to meet the citizens’ food requirements thereby attaining self-sufficiency in food production.


“When we harness and support talents such as Ukasha, jobless youths roaming streets can be catered for to the extent that they can also employ others thereby invariably assisting Bauchi state to actualise her full agricultural potentials.


“Since coming on board, His Excellency Senator Bala Mohammed has been trying to ensure food security and an enhanced agro-business agenda in the state which saw his government sponsoring over 200 youths to Nasarawa state and his recent loan approval for the Bauchi Fertilizer blending company,” she said.


In his response, Mr Ukasha expressed appreciation to the governor’s wife for the gesture saying it would motivate him.
