The Northern Governors Forum (NGF) has  said that  former Nigeria’s Minister of Defence and Chairman, Joint Chiefs of Staff, General, Domkat Bali (Rted), remains a pride to the military.

The NGF chairman who is also the Plateau state governor, Simon Lalong, made the statement Thursday while felicitating with General Bali, as he clocks 80 years.

Governor Lalong, in a press statement, issued by his director of press and public affairs, Dr. Makut Macham, described the celebrant as one who has given his best to the nation throughout his years of distinguished military career, and service to Nigeria.

“General Bali remains a pride to the military institution, Plateau state and Nigeria at large, having served as pioneer Commandant, Command and Staff College, Jaji, Adjutant General, Nigerian Army as well as member of the Supreme Military Council/Armed Forces Ruling Council for many years,” Lalong said.

He said the track record of General Bali has remained an inspiration to the younger ones, particularly those making sacrifices to defend Nigeria from the threats of insurgency, banditry, and terrorism.
