Bamgbose offers to assist families of slain security personnel

The National Coordinator, Concerned Advocates for Good Governance (CAGG) Olusegun Bamgbose has offered to assist families of slain security personnel in Nigeria.

Bamgbose in a statement said the worsening security situation in the country was no doubt, taking a toll on the security agents in the country.

According to him, “Almost on daily basis, we are losing our men to the growing insecurity in Nigeria. Our security agents are now exposed to danger, they have become endangered species, no thanks to the activities of bandits, unknown gunmen, insurgents, hoodlums, and what have you.:

He said the widows of these slain security men were left traumatised and frustrated, and some of their children drop out of school for their inability to pay their school fees.

“This should be a major concern to all Nigerians. Our security men are our heroes. They must be encouraged and empowered to meritoriously serve the country. This period is certainly one of the most trying times for our security men. They have been overstretched beyond the limit.

“The challenges facing them are so overwhelming. As a citizen of Nigeria, and concerned about the welfare of our security men, I have decided to come up with God Bless Our Security Agents(GBOSA) GBOSA Program through the Caleb and Greg Foundation, CAGG Foundation of which I am the President. Other things equal come March 2022, the programs will kick-off,” he said.

He further reiterated that the GBOSA Program was aimed at encouraging security men to be more dedicated thereby ensuring that peace reigns in the country.

“The Foundation will also take care of the medical bills of any security agents whose wives deliver twins or more. Other things being equal, come 2023, Security officers will be entitled to at least one free meal a day. In addition as a result of our commitment to encourage the police, the Foundation will come up with an award for the best Commisioner of Police in Nigeria come 2022.

“The maiden award will come up by December 2022.The sum of One million naira will be given out to the best CP of the year. Our Foundation shall soon communicate our intentions to President Buhari and other security agencies. All hands must be on deck to encourage and empower our security agents to put in their best at this most challenging and crucial period in Nigeria,” he said.
