Governor of Ondo state, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko, has described the candidate of the Labour Party (LP) for the June 21 governorship election in Ekiti state, Hon. Opeyemi Bamidele, as “a man with a divine agenda” to transform Ekiti state.
Mimiko, the national leader of the party, also described the LP as the “only party that can rescue the less privileged in Ekiti from the claws of poverty and hard biting economic problems being faced by the populace.”

National chairman of the LP, Barrister Dan Nwanyanwu, has, therefore, urged the people of Ekiti state to vote for Bamidele on in June 21.
Mimiko and Nwanyanwu, who made the remarks at a mega rally, held in Ado-Ekiti for the LP candidate, said Bamidele took the best decision to join the LP, adding “there is no Godfather who will bring you the lists of commissioners if he wins the election.”

Nwanyanwu specifically noted that the party would reduce the fees being paid by students in the state to the barest minimum, “as it is in Ondo state, so that the children of the masses and the poor will enjoy good education, good health facilities amongst the dividends of democracy.”
He said the people of Ekiti state should “shine your eyes as those who claimed to be progressives are not progressives in all their dealings with the people.”

Also speaking, Mimoko urged Ekiti people to vote Bamidele in as their next governor “because he is a man of character and integrity who has a combination of uncommon virtue and experience to deliver the good of democracy.”
He said: “Bamidele will play politics of inclusiveness and not politics of exclusiveness; he will provide job for the people so that life will be more meaningful for the people.”

Bamidele in his speech, promised to provide unusual leadership in Ekiti state, but rejected the typical governor “who will go to the capital market to borrow money to run the state,” describing “such governor as a governor that lacks creativity in the running of the state.”
