Banditry: Sokoto receives 3 more abductees

The Sokoto state government has through negotiations and amicable resolution received three more people abducted by armed banditsin May this year.

Speaking while handing over the victims to the Sokoto state deputy

governor at government house Sokoto, the Commissioner for Careers and Security matter, Col. Garba Moyi (rtd) said the victims regained their freedom through the effort of the Sokoto state government negotiations and resolution committee which is working tirelessly to secure the release of all abducted persons through negotiation.

Col Moyi gave the names of the those released to include a 60 year old man, Alhaji Musa Danbuwa Sabon Birni, from Sabon Birni local

government; a  16 year old boy, Amadu Rufai and Adamu Rufai, a 7 year old boy captured during Ramadan period.

Fielding questions from newsmen, the commissioner said no dime was paid to secure their release adding that  “The efforts of the negotiations yielded this release without paying a dime.”

Receiving the victims, the deputy governor of Sokoto state, Maniru Muhammad Dan’iya said the efforts of Governor Aminu Waziri

Tambuwal to rescue all Sokoto state captives is yielding positive results.
