Bauchi gov’s wife donates delivery kits to 600 women

Wife of Bauchi state governor, Hajiya Hadiza Mohammed Abubakar yesterday donated delivery kits and food items to 600 pregnant women and malnourished children in Toro local government area of the state.
Our correspondent reports that items donated by the governor’s wife included; surgical blades, bleach, cotton, sanitary pads, surgical gloves, baby showers amongst others.
Mrs Abubakar, represented by the wife of the deputy governor, Hajiya Fatima Nuhu Gidado at Toro general hospital, explained that the items were donated under the health intervention programme of her pet project, Bauchi Sustainable Women Economic Empowerment and Peace Initiative (BSWEEP).
She said three local government areas; Ningi, Toro and Katagum were selected from each of the senatorial zones of the state to benefit from the second phase of the maternal and infant health intervention programme.
She added that a total of 600 nutritional meal packs were prepared under hygienic and standard specification using millet, soya beans and groundnuts to provide nutrients to malnourished children in all the three selected centres.
