Bauchi mother of quadruplets receives medical care, seeks help


A mother Malama Adama Iya, who gave birth to quadruplets last Wednesday in Sakwa village of Zaki local government area of Bauchi state is still receiving medical attention as she continues to bleed since after the birth of the four children.


Her husband Malam Abdullahi Sadauki in an interview with Blueprint said the woman is currently taking drips five days after the delivery of the babies.


According to him, Adama had given birth to twins for him in the past revealing that the quadruplets born were uncommon in the area.


“This is the first time in history of Sakwa that any woman delivered of four babies at the same time. They were born on Wednesday but after spending one day, they all died.


“The mother gave birth to them at home but as she bleeds, we took her to hospital. She is at present taking drips. We appeal to government and other wealthy individuals to come to her aid”. He said.


Malam Abdullahi Sadauki said that all the people of the community were elated when the children were born as they trooped in numbers to his house to see them and rejoice with the parents.


He said he was sad that all the four babies eventually died. “Two of the babies were males and the rest were females. But Allah in his wisdom took their lives”. He explained.
