Bauchi: NNPP lawmaker hails Supreme Court judgements

The only New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) lawmaker in the Bauchi State House of Assembly representing Bauchi Central constituency, Hon. Jamilu Umaru Dahiru has lauded the supreme court of Nigeria for ‘delivering fair judgements’ in recent time.

The lawmaker made the commendation in a press release issued to newsmen on Thursday in Bauchi where he stated that the judgements will rekindle the confidence of the down-trodden masses in the judiciary.

He noted that the verdict delivered by the apex court in favour of governor Bala Mohammad of Bauchi state was a run-over judgment as the Elections Petition Tribunal in Bauchi and an Appellate Court in Jos have already upheld the election of Bala as the duly elected governor of the state.

The assembly member therefore commended the Judiciary for its just and fair judgment not only as regard the case of Senator Bala Mohammed, but in virtually all the adjudicatory cases dispensed by the various courts, and urged it to maintain the tempo for the peaceful co-existence of the diverse ethnic groups of the country.

Jamilu, who is the House Committee Chairman on Public Account, appealed to the people of Bauchi state to give Governor Bala Mohammed the necessary support and cooperation to enable him fulfill his electioneering campaign promises, especially in delivering democracy dividends to the electorates.

The NNPP Lawmaker reassured his support to the PDP administration in Bauchi on any developmental aspect in the collective resolve towards moving the state to the next level, and appealed to all his colleagues in the house to set aside political differences and put all hands on deck to take the state to higher level.
