Bauchi police arrest robbers for stealing N3.4m items, cash


Bauchi state police command has arrested suspected armed robbers and conspirators who allegedly broke into houses on 25th March 2021 at Zango area of the state capital with dangerous weapons and robbed occupants of some valuable items which include phones, laptops, motorcycles, plasma televisions and jewelry worth N3, 159, 000 and a cash of sum of N290, 000.


The state commissioner of police Abiodun Sylvester Alabi disclosed this Friday while briefing journalists on the successes recorded by the command in recent time.


He said on 30th March, the police in collaboration with ‘Danga’ security personnel also had an encounter with bandits while on patrol along Riga forest, in Duguri, Alkaleri local government which led to the killing of two of the bandits.


On the 31st of March, he added, the command arrested a suspected kidnapper one Abdulkarim Isah aged 20 years who hails from Taraba state that attempted to abduct a man and his wife in Alkaleri local government area of Bauchi state and another suspected kidnappers Adamu Abubakar, Sagir Yusuf and Idris Mohammed for allegedly abducting three persons and demanding a ransom of N4 million in addition to snatching 230 cows belonging to the victims.


The commissioner who promised to prosecute the arrested criminals assured that they will continue to track, arrest and deal with criminals according to the full dictates of the law.


“We assure the general public that our duty towards maintaining law and order, providing adequate security for lives and properties, preventing and detecting crime, and enforcing the laws in order to preserve civil order is unwaivering”. The commissioner pledged.
